What’s To Drink: N.V. Alvear Pedro Ximenez Montilla-Moriles Solera 1927
This was a delicious sweet sherry. A rich raisin taste in the mouth. After being open for 4 days the tastes shifted slightly towards chocolate and caramel. The “1927” in the title is not the vintage, but rather the year when they started the Solera process. This is great stuff and it will hold quite well after being opened for “several weeks” (according to the label). That is if you can stand to leave it alone.
